psychologyCrowdSec Analysis
CVE-2026-96655 is a server-side request forgery vulnerability in Plex Media Server before 1.43.3.10861. It is one of the steps of the Plex2Shell exploitation chain.
CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 28th of October 2026.
CrowdSec has not observed any significant exploitation activity targeting CVE-2026-96655 across its network. As a result, no community-driven trend analysis is available for this vulnerability at this time.
Attackers send requests to /video/:/transcode/universal/start (or start.m3u8, decision) with an attacker-chosen URL in the path query parameter, e.g. path=http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/, instead of a library path.
