## Description

An authentication bypass in N-central < 2026.3 HF 3 leads to authentication bypass in internal only APIs

## CrowdSec analysis

[CVE-2026-86207](https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/CVE-2026-86207) is an authentication bypass vulnerability in N-able N-central versions earlier than 2026.3 HF 3, allowing attackers with limited privileges to access internal-only APIs without proper authentication. Successful exploitation could enable unauthorized access to sensitive data and compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 9th of September 2026.

CrowdSec network data shows that most actors exploiting CVE-2026-86207 rely on broad, untargeted scans with minimal filtering. The activity is largely automated and opportunistic in nature.
CrowdSec network telemetry also shows that exploitation of CVE-2026-86207 has significantly declined over the past week. Attack volumes are well below the long-term average, suggesting attackers are rapidly losing interest. The vulnerability appears to be falling out of active use across most threat landscapes.

Attackers target the `/dms;/services/ServerUI` SOAP endpoint using a crafted `Forwarded` header that presents the request as originating from localhost. Exploitation involves invoking `sessionHello`, bypassing two-factor authentication through `userTwoFactorLogin`, and then accessing internal customer data via `customerList` using the returned session ID.
