## Description

Concrete CMS 9.5.0 and below is vulnerable to IDOR. The `/ccm/frontend/conversations/message_detail` endpoint returns the full content of any conversation message. An unauthenticated attacker can enumerate all conversation messages, including messages from restricted pages, member-only areas, and the moderation queue. File attachments with download URLs are also exposed. The Concrete CMS security team gave this vulnerability a CVSS v.4.0 score of 6.3 with Vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N. Thanks Eldudareeno for reporting.

## CrowdSec analysis

[CVE-2026-8237](https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/CVE-2026-8237) is a medium-severity IDOR vulnerability in Concrete CMS 9.5.0 and earlier that exposes the full contents of conversation messages through the `/ccm/frontend/conversations/message_detail` endpoint. Unauthenticated attackers can enumerate messages from restricted pages, member-only areas, and moderation queues, potentially accessing sensitive content and file attachment download URLs.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 25th of August 2026.

According to CrowdSec data, while opportunistic exploitation dominates, a portion of threat actors trying to exploit CVE-2026-8237 apply basic targeting methods such as port or service detection. This indicates emerging patterns of selective targeting.
CrowdSec data also reveals a clear uptick in attacks involving CVE-2026-8237 over the past week. Activity is above the usual baseline, suggesting growing attention from attackers. This may reflect rising awareness, recent exploit releases, or expanded targeting efforts.

Attackers target the `/ccm/frontend/conversations/message_detail` endpoint with an unauthenticated POST request containing the `cnvMessageID` parameter, typically supplying enumerated message IDs to retrieve conversation content and attachments without authorization.
