## Key facts

- **Exploitation phase:** Limited Exploitation. The vulnerability is known but shows very limited attacker interest or exploitation activity.
- **CVSS score:** 6.9
- **Public exploit available:** Yes
- **Affected products:** Landray EKP
- **Weaknesses:** CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal'))
- **Tags:** enterprise_software, web_application

## Description

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Landray EKP up to 16.0. This affects the function delPreviewFile of the file /sys/ui/sys_ui_component/sysUiComponent.do?method=delPreviewFile. The manipulation of the argument directoryPath leads to path traversal. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.

## CrowdSec analysis

[CVE-2024-11238](https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/CVE-2024-11238) is a critical path traversal vulnerability in Landray EKP up to version 16.0, specifically affecting the delPreviewFile function. Remote attackers can exploit this flaw via the directoryPath argument to access or delete arbitrary files on the server. With public exploit code available and no vendor response, this vulnerability poses a significant risk of unauthorized file manipulation and potential data loss.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 26th of November 2025.

CrowdSec has not observed any significant exploitation activity targeting CVE-2024-11238 across its network. As a result, no community-driven trend analysis is available for this vulnerability at this time.

Attackers exploit this vulnerability by sending requests to `/sys/ui/sys_ui_component/sysUiComponent.do?method=delPreviewFile` with a crafted `directoryPath` parameter containing path traversal sequences (e.g., `../`). This allows unauthorized access or deletion of files outside the intended directory.
