## Description

The SolarWinds Security Event Manager was susceptible to Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated user to abuse SolarWinds’ service, resulting in remote code execution.

## CrowdSec analysis

[CVE-2024-0692](https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/CVE-2024-0692), a high-severity flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to send crafted AMF payloads, triggering remote code execution.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 17th of June 2025.

According to CrowdSec data, while opportunistic exploitation dominates, a portion of threat actors trying to exploit CVE-2024-0692 apply basic targeting methods such as port or service detection. This indicates emerging patterns of selective targeting.
Data from the CrowdSec community also indicates a gradual decrease in attacks targeting CVE-2024-0692. While still present in the wild, exploitation levels have dropped noticeably week-over-week. This may signal that the vulnerability is becoming less relevant or that defenses are improving fast enough for attackers to lose interest.

Unauthenticated attackers send malicious AMF payloads to a deserialization endpoint in Security Event Manager, leading to remote code execution under the service account
