## CrowdSec analysis

[CVE-2022-1692](https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/CVE-2022-1692) is a critical SQL injection vulnerability in the CP Image Store with Slideshow WordPress plugin prior to version 1.0.68. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit the unsanitized ordering_by query parameter, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data exfiltration, or manipulation of the underlying database.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 1st of April 2026.

CrowdSec has not observed any significant exploitation activity targeting CVE-2022-1692 across its network. As a result, no community-driven trend analysis is available for this vulnerability at this time.

Attackers exploit endpoints where the `[codepeople-image-store]` shortcode is present by injecting malicious SQL via the `ordering_by` query parameter, often observed in requests to URLs containing `?s=codepeople-image-store` or similar page paths. This allows unauthenticated SQL injection attempts targeting WordPress sites using the CP Image Store with Slideshow plugin.
