## Description

FasterXML jackson-databind 2.x before 2.9.10.4 mishandles the interaction between serialization gadgets and typing, related to com.ibatis.sqlmap.engine.transaction.jta.JtaTransactionConfig (aka ibatis-sqlmap).

## CrowdSec analysis

This vulnerability in FasterXML jackson-databind versions 2.x before 2.9.10.4, as catalogued in [EUVD](https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/CVE-2020-9547), allows remote code execution due to improper handling of serialization gadgets and typing, specifically involving the com.ibatis.sqlmap.engine.transaction.jta.JtaTransactionConfig class. Attackers could exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary code on affected systems, potentially leading to full system compromise.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 16th of July 2025.

CrowdSec has not observed any significant exploitation activity targeting CVE-2020-9547 across its network. As a result, no community-driven trend analysis is available for this vulnerability at this time.

Attackers exploit this vulnerability by sending a POST request with a malicious JSON payload to the root endpoint `/`, aiming to trigger unsafe deserialization and achieve remote code execution.
