## CrowdSec analysis

[CVE-2019-9632](https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/CVE-2019-9632) is an arbitrary file download vulnerability in ESAFENET CDG V3 and V5, where improper handling of the InstallationPack parameter in download.jsp allows attackers to download sensitive files from the server. This flaw could be exploited to access confidential information or system files, potentially leading to further compromise of the affected system.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 12th of June 2025.

Data from the CrowdSec community indicates that exploitation of CVE-2019-9632 is highly selective and intelligence-driven. Threat actors use advanced reconnaissance and carefully choose their targets, often as part of sophisticated campaigns or advanced persistent threat operations.
CrowdSec network telemetry also shows that exploitation of CVE-2019-9632 has significantly declined over the past week. Attack volumes are well below the long-term average, suggesting attackers are rapidly losing interest. The vulnerability appears to be falling out of active use across most threat landscapes.

Attackers exploit the `/cdgserver3/clientajax` endpoint using POST requests to trigger arbitrary file downloads by abusing backend parameter handling.
